As 1 of only 7 clubs in the Midlands we're thrilled to gain Talent Centre accreditation & share what this means for all young players, existing & new!

Being awarded Talent Centre status is a huge accomplishment. As one of only 35 clubs in England we're enormously proud of this achievement for our grassroots club.

Talent Centre Accredited in 2023

Talent Centre accreditation recognizes the quality of a club’s talent development environment and provision. Bromsgrove Hockey Club became accredited in November 2023.

The club's Junior Committee has been driving the development of its Junior Pathway for the last several years, creating the right environments and honing our resources, coaching and communications to become a renowned center for excellence.

Over the past year, our Junior representatives have worked tirelessly with England Hockey, attending workshops and demonstrating provision here at BHC to earn this national accreditation.

Moving forward our relationship with England Hockey Developers will ensure our leadership, coaching, environments, player development, wellbeing, culture, inclusion and outreach continue to meet the high standards required under the EH Talent Centre Framework.

Delivering Hockey to Children & Young People at BHC

We welcome children and young people of all abilities and we offer opportunities for children and young people to get involved in hockey from age 4+.

Our Junior section boasts over 250 members, and we provide dedicated training programs for players up to age 15 years, by which time most young people have begun their transition into one of our Adult hockey teams (which they can participate in from age 13+).

Between the ages of 13-18, our young people also benefit from strategic mentoring and selection processes to ensure they can achieve their highest potential.

Talented players are identified and developed through our Talent Centre program and Vision Academy, so we can actively support players who might be eligible for the England Hockey Talent System, including EH Area led development initiatives such as County Hockey trials, Talent Academy sessions, or even National Age Group selection (NAGs).

Weekly training is organized by age-group for U6s, U8s, U10s, U12s and U14s.

From their 13th birthday players can begin the transition into Adults hockey and from 15-18 years of age will train with one of our adults teams based on their ability and experience.

As a family-oriented club, our aim is to balance inclusion and access with performance, to enable every player to achieve their goals at whatever level they aspire.

Head to our Junior Section for more information on getting started with Bromsgrove Hockey Club.
