Bromsgrove U16 Boys secured an excellent victory in a fiercely contested opening match in the England Championships. A fast start from our boys lead to an early opening reverse stick strike from Elliot Morris to take the lead and put Sils on the back foot. A second quickly followed as Tom Spring drove the ball from the halfway line to draw the keeper before squaring to Elliot to slot in a second. Two further well worked goals secured a 4 - 0 half time lead.
The second half was a more closely contested affair with Sils use of their subs and a tiring Bromsgrove 11 although there was still plenty of end to end action and good hockey played by both teams. A further goal from a fast break meant the score finished 5- 0 to Bromsgrove.
Overall for a first outing together the team played really well right from Theo and the defence at the back through the strong midfield and excellent wide play on to the wingers and up to the forwards. Well played boys!
Special thanks to Max for stepping in at the last minute and guest player Ethan.
