A call for support

Hi everyone, Alan Gormley here. Now that we have Walking Hockey up and ‘walking’ I’m looking to launch our next initiative to get more people from our community playing hockey - and I wondered if you had any skills or knowledge you could bring to the project please?

When Sarah and I met with Kate Richardson-Walsh recently she said that she is an ambassador for Access Sport, an organisation that looks to give sporting opportunities to disabled and disadvantaged people. Kate kindly got me an introduction to Access Sport and I’ve had initial talks about setting something up here in Bromsgrove. They are looking to get 20 more hockey clubs active in this field by 2020.

And this is where you may come in .....

I would like to form a small working group to look into the feasibility of starting the group and would like to invite anyone who feels they can help to an initial meeting early in the New Year. I’m not looking for people to commit lots of time and energy to this (but I’d be delighted if you could) so please don’t feel you would be under any obligation to form part of the working group. I simply want to know what knowledge you have in this area so that I can use you as a reference point to direct the working group to the right people.

If you feel you have know something or someone who would be useful to the project I’d love to hear from you.

Please email me on alan@sport-edge.co.uk or call or text me on 07731369942.

Many thanks and a Merry Christmas!
