Disciplinary Code - Matchday Misdemeanours
Players who receive red cards during games are automatically banned for a minimum of 16 days under England Hockey rules. However, there is no such penalty for players who persistently receive yellow cards. As players being yellow carded brings the Club iinto disrepute and can result in the Club being fined by the League Secretary, it has been decided by the Club to implement the following:
Players who receive 2 yellow cards will receive a written warning.
Players who receive a 3rd yellow card will receive a 1 match ban imposed by the Club.
On receipt of a 4th yellow card, players will receive a 2nd written warning.
For all subsequent yellow cards a 1 match ban will be imposed.
The count of yellow cards for all players is reset to zero after the Christmas break and at the end of the season. However, a ban picked up on the last matchday before the count is reset will not be wiped out and will have to be served during the next applicable game after the break.
